SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Three people have been charged in a cross-burning incident at the home of an interracial couple in north Louisiana.
An indictment handed up Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Shreveport charges 23-year-old Joshua James Moro with conspiring to interfere with another person's civil rights.
Moro, 33-3-year-old Jeremy Matthew Moro and 31-year-old Sonya Marie Hart were charged with making false statements to FBI agents. Joshua Moro and Hart also were charged with perjury.
A fourth person, Daniel Danforth, already has been convicted in the case and sentenced to four years in prison.
In October 2008, Moro and Danforth allegedly agreed to erect and burn a cross near the home of their cousin and the cousin's boyfriend, who is black.
