Winter Weather Delays and Closings

SCHOOL CLOSURES:

*Rapides Parish Schools will be OPEN on Thursday. But, if parents want to keep their children home, it will be considered an excused absence.

*Avoyelles Parish Schools will be OPEN on Thursday.

*Cenla Christian Academy will be OPEN on Thursday, but if parents want to keep their children home, it will be considered an excused absence.

*Grant Parish Schools will be CLOSED on THURSDAY.

*Avoyelles Public Charter School is CLOSED on THURSDAY.

*LSU-Eunice and Upper Iowa University night classes at the LCRP in Alexandria are CANCELLED Wednesday night.  Classes will resume at 8am Thursday.

*NSU-Shreveport Campus will reopen at 11am on THURSDAY.

*NSU-Natchitoches campus will reopen at 11am on THURSDAY.

*NSU-Leesville campus will reopen at 11am on THURSDAY.

*Louisiana Tech's Ruston and Barksdale AFB campuses will be CLOSED UNTIL FRIDAY. Essential university personnel will be required to report to work as scheduled.

*Louisiana College's chapel service for Thursday morning is cancelled. Classes and activities will resume at 12:20pm on Thursday.

*LSUA will reopen on its normal schedule at 8am on THURSDAY.

*Bentley Christian Academy will be CLOSED on THURSDAY.

ROAD CLOSURES:

*I-49 in Alexandria from Rapides Station to the Highway 71 South (LSUA) exit  is back OPEN on THURSDAY.

*The Boyce Bridge (LA 8) over the Red River is also back OPEN.

*All bridges between Alexandria and Pineville are OPEN.

AGENCY CLOSINGS:

*Rapides Council on Aging CLOSED on Thursday.

*All Senior Citizen Meal Sites in Rapides, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Winn, Grant, and LaSalle parishes are CLOSED on THURSDAY. 

*Cenla Travel's trip to Angola is rescheduled for Thursday, February 17.
