Godspell, JR

Event Dates and Times

11/17/2017 - 11/19/2017
Weathersby Fine Arts Building on the campus of Louisiana College
Agape Performing Arts, a division of Nugent Music Academy, presents "Godspell, JR". Conceived and originally directed by John Michael Tebelak, with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, Godspell is one of the biggest Off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time. Based on The Gospel According to St. Matthew, the musical uses major episodes in the Bible – including the baptism of Jesus, the Last Supper, his arrest and crucifixion – to explore important truths about compassion, love, forgiveness and sacrifice. The show draws on various theatrical traditions and musical styles, including pantomime, charades, acrobatics, vaudeville, folk and rock to create a groundbreaking and unique reflection on parables of Jesus.
Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for students and children 12 and under
