Abby came from a small rural town about 30 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri, called Highland, Illinois.
As a kid she was terrified of thunderstorms and that was what made her have an interest in weather. Growing up she was always interested in the weather on the television but once the thunderstorm approached she would become terrified and dart to the basement.
Abby graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri in May 2017 with a degree in Atmospheric Science. Throughout college she was heavily involved in the Meteorology Club serving as the Treasurer, Vice President and a member of the Storm Chase team. Not only was she involved in the Meteorology Club, she was also involved within the School of Natural Resources where she served as an ambassador for three years.
When Abby is not working, she loves to spend time volunteering, spending time by the pool, exercising and spending time with her family. She volunteered with the Special Olympics in Missouri for four years. Within the Special Olympics she coached more than 100 athletes throughout the sports of swimming, track, basketball and softball. She swam competitively from the age of five till 18 and then became a swim coach for the Highland Splash. She is lucky enough to have shared these events with her parents and two sisters.
