Nicole is a native of Meriden, Kansas, a small town of 800 people located 15 minutes north of Topeka. She joined the KALB sports team in early September of 2017.
Nicole received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Kansas, majoring in journalism and minoring in psychology. She began her collegiate career playing volleyball for Butler Community College (El Dorado, Kan.) and called the Juco Powerhouse’s football games from 2012 to 2014.
After transferring to KU, Nicole began appearing on the student-run sports show, The Playmakers, broadcasted live on the KU student channel. Through her work with Playmakers, Nicole has numerous accolades, including a second place finish for best sports feature in 2016 by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. She also had a stint as a reporting intern for the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2015 season.
During her free time, Nicole loves to watch all levels of football, play volleyball, travel to the best beaches in the world and lift weights, when not spending time with her cat, Mantis. She also loves spending quality time with family and friends as much as possible and watching every Kansas City Chiefs game possible.
Nicole is very excited to work with the Central Louisiana community and learn the local sports scene. She is very grateful for the opportunity to work at KALB and begin her sports reporting career.
