Inmate who escaped DC 1 has been CAPTURED; second suspect arrested

AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (KALB) - UPDATE: Rondrikus Fulton has been captured by APSO deputies at a motel room in Bunkie. He is being returned to DC 1 and will be charged with simple escape.

Another suspect was also arrested after detectives learned that she provided transportation and refuge for Fulton after his escape. Michelle Gauthier of Cottonport was charged with accessory after the fact to simple escape.

The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for an inmate who they said escaped.

Deputies said Rondrikus Fulton, 40 of Cottonport, fled DC 1 while working an assignment as a kitchen worker. They said a kitchen door was opened to accept deliveries.

Fulton is described as 5'11", 168 lbs., black hair and green eyes. He has known associates in the Bunkie and Cottonport area.

Fulton was currently serving a two year sentence for a probation and parole violation for failure to register as a sex offender.

Detectives are following leads and are aggressively working to recapture him. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts are asked to call the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-253-4000 or your local police department.
