Ball woman killed in early morning wrong way crash

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (LSP) - Early Tuesday morning, a crash involving two vehicles killed a woman from Ball and injured a man from Alexandria.

Troopers responded to the crash around 6:00 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 28 West, east of Gardner.

Imogene H. Jones, 79, was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry, traveling eastbound on Hwy 28 West, but was in the westbound lane. She collided head-on with a 2011 Dodge pickup.

Jones was wearing her seat belt, but was pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup, Joseph P. Bordelon, 45, was also wearing his seat belt and sustained moderate injuries. He was transported to Rapides Regional Trauma Center for treatment.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
