BOYCE, La. (RPSO) - On December 24, deputies responded to Cotile Lake Road in Boyce, in reference to a report of domestic violence.
Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim. Due to the appearance and severity of her injuries, she was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Through their initial investigation, deputies identified Christopher Elliott Richey as the suspect.
Deputies attempted to locate Richey that night, but were unsuccessful.
The case was then assigned to the Domestic Violence Detective for further investigation. The detective was able to gather voluntary statements and physical evidence, which supported the victim's initial allegations.
On January 5, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Christopher Elliott Richey on the charges of Domestic Abuse Battery, Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation, Aggravated Second Degree Battery, False Imprisonment, Obstruction of Justice and two counts of Simple Kidnapping.
With the assistance of Patrol Deputies and members of the US Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force, Richey was located and taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he remains on a $175,000.00 bond.
