ALEXANDRIA, La. (CLTCC) - Louisiana native, singer/songwriter Courtney Cole will perform live at Jena High School Wednesday, March 7 at 12:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium.
The concert is part of a statewide “Empowering Education” tour which officially kicked off today in Bossier City, La. Cole will perform a series of concerts throughout the state between March 5 and March 15. Prior to the start of the concert, CMT will show its Empowering Education video, share student success stories, and facilitate a panel discussion with students. The purpose is to make the public more aware of the educational opportunities in Louisiana and increase the number of work-ready residents in the state.
CLTCC Rod Brady Campus in Jena, along with several other Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges, were selected to participate through a formal application process. Colleges were chosen based on need and how the tour could make a positive impact in their community.
Rod Brady chose to have its concert at Jena High School in an effort to recruit area high school students and showcase its programs to potential students. LaSalle High School, Georgetown High School, and Harrisonburg High School also are scheduled to attend.
Cole is from New Orleans, and she has opened for the biggest names in country music like Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, and Thomas Rhett. She has been named one of CMT’s “Next Women of Country.”
