ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Christus Cabrini Hospital plans to debut one of the latest forms of technology that is at the cutting edge of cancer therapy.
The Varian Trilogy Stereotactic System is a linear accelerator. In addition, the machine has brain lapse solution.
The linear accelerator's patient table moves in six different directions, allowing doctors to be able to examine tumors closely.
The brain lapse solution also allows for doctors to perform stereotactic work so that small lesions of the brain, liver or lung can be treated.
Soon, patient will not have to leave the area ti get the best cancer treatment.
Cabrini hospital told News Channel Five that they expect the linear accelerator to be ready for patient use by August.
