Alexandria La. (KALB) - Stakeholders for the Gulf Coast Strategic Highway Coalition discussed adding another interstate to Cenla.

The group is lobbying elected officials and community leaders to build I-14 that would stretch across Texas, into Louisiana including Leesville and Alexandria and through parts of Mississippi including Natchez. So far, there is more than 200 miles of I-14 built through Texas.
Representatives from Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi attended today's meeting at the Cenla Chamber of Commerce. Mayors from San Angelo, Texas and Natchez, Mississippi even participated.
Leaders say it's important to start the conversation now, to build the interstate piece by piece for the next few decades.
The next step is to craft and present legislation on Capitol Hill to include Louisiana and Mississippi.
