Gov. Edwards and Jay Dardenne announce office closings

BATON ROUGE, La. (Office of the Governor) - The following message is from the Office of Gov. John Bel Edward's social media platforms:

"Due to potential dangerous wintry weather conditions, Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne is announcing the closure of state government offices in 44 parishes as of noon today (Friday).

Parishes included in the closure list:

Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Catahoula, Claiborne, Concordia, Desoto, East Baton Rouge, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Iberville, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Livingston, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Union, Vernon, Washington, Webster, West Baton Rouge, West Carroll, West Feliciana and Winn.

State officials continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the state. The parish office closure list may be updated as conditions change.

All agency heads are responsible for determining those essential personnel who should remain on duty or those who should report to alternate work sites if necessary.
