ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Hurricane Jose is in the Atlantic as a Category 1 Hurricane. It is located near latitude 28.9 North and longitude 71.9 West. It is moving to the north at 6 mph.
Maximum sustained winds are 80 mph and there are higher gusts. It is expected to stay out in the Atlantic and go up along the east coast. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 185 miles. Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 35 miles.
