ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - After closing over a year ago, the Parc England Hotel and Bistro on the Bayou in Alexandria has been sold in an auction.
Bonnette Auctions, who oversaw the auction, confirmed that the former hotel and restaurant were purchased by an Alexandria doctor, but would not release specifics. Barbara Bonnette with Bonnette Auctions said the new owner plans to retain Parc England as a hotel and will turn Bistro on the Bayou into an event center.
The next step for the new owner is receiving approval from the England Authority, the appointed board who oversees the old England Air Force base area, and complete the closing.
The hotel and bistro closed in Sept. 2016 when the Bank of Montgomery purchased the two in a bankruptcy auction. Since then, the bank has renovated the two buildings.
Currently, there is no word on when they are scheduled to reopen.
