Sex offender arrested for non-compliance

BOYCE, La. (RPSO) - On January 5, the Sex Offender Registration Section of the Criminal Investigation Division affected an arrest on a non-compliant sex offender.

John Andrew Borskey, Jr., 50, of Boyce was arrested for Failure to Renew or Update Sex Offender Registration and Failure to Pay Registration Fee.

Borskey, Jr. was convicted in St. Charles Parish in 2002 for forcible rape, where the victim was under the age of 13 years old.

This conviction places Borskey, Jr. in the Tier 3 status, which requires him to register with law enforcement for the rest of his life.

Detectives secured arrest warrants on Borskey, Jr. on January 5. He was located, with the assistance of Patrol Deputies, and arrested on the outstanding warrants. Borskey, Jr remains in the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $7,500.00 bond.

“Our Detectives assigned to the Sex Offender Registration are constantly monitoring and conducting compliance checks on offenders in our parish” said Sheriff William Earl Hilton. “We monitor over 350 registered sex offenders in our parish and that includes those that live here or work here that live in other jurisdictions.”
