State Police arrest Lake Providence man for rape

LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. (LSP) - In November 2017, Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit received a complaint in reference to a juvenile being raped by a teenager in East Carroll Parish.

During this investigation, it revealed Richard Lockhart Jr., 19, of Lake Providence had sexual intercourse with a teenager. On August 8, 2018, Lockhart was arrested and later transferred to River Bend Correctional Center in Lake Providence where he was charged with second-degree rape.

This is an ongoing and active investigation, with no further information at this time.
