State Police warn public about sharing child pornography video

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Louisiana State Police are warning the public not to share a child pornography video that has been circulating on the internet.

According to Troop E based in Alexandria, police have been getting multiple reports of a video depicting a clear act of child pornography and child abuse. That video is being shared by people in the community in an effort to track that person down - including being sent to us here at KALB.

But, LSP want the public to know that it is illegal to transmit child pornography, and while you may have good intentions to find the person responsible, it is still a crime if you do so.

News Channel 5 has been in contact with LSP about the video we have received multiple times and have turned over information to them. They believe the video originates outside of the country and are working with other agencies to find the person responsible for abusing the child.
