ST. GEORGE, Utah (NBC) - A student has been charged with bringing a homemade bomb to Pine View High School in St. George, Utah.
The bomb was found in the student's backpack, emitting smoke and prompting an evacuation. The teen was arrested on Monday night after a bomb squad investigated the school for two hours.
According to police, the teen had been researching ISIS and showing interest in promoting the organization. They described the homemade bomb as having enough potential to cause serious injury or death.
Police also said more charges are pending as a suspect in raising an ISIS flag on a pole at another school last month.
