ALEXANDRIA-- Last Friday night the Buckeye Panthers defeated divisional rivals the Grant Cougars in a high scoring fashion 73-46. Leading the way for the Panthers was senior quarterback Tory Carman, who had the game of his life. Under center Carman racked up a total of 229 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, and he even added a 43 yard touchdown pass.
“Oh yeah it’s nice because I hear a lot about how I never really pass the ball” said Carman, “So when you finally get a touchdown pass it kind of makes everybody be quiet about it a little bit.”
Carman is also a star in the classroom as well as he’s also a 4.0 student and has left an everlasting mark on his teammates and coaches. He plans on attending Centenary College next fall and pursue and career in the medical field.
“Super student and super kid and just a super person”, said head coach Jonathan Landry, “His leadership and what he means to this football team from that standpoint is what we’ll miss the most”.
