Next Level: McKenzie Jackson's journey to the Naval Academy

LEESVILLE (KALB) -- For McKenzie Jackson, signing with the Naval Academy was a no-brainer. Not only did it give the former Leesville defensive back an opportunity to play college football at the division I level, but beyond that, it allowed him to continue a family tradition of sorts.

Jackson's grandfather served in the Vietnam War and his father served in Iraq and once Jackson's football career ends, whether that's after four years at Navy or after a career in the NFL, he plans to fulfill his service commitments as well.

Jackson departs for college in Annapolis, MD next month, but before he does that, he has already been getting a taste of military training, working out at the base at Ft. Polk in Leesville.
