Peabody parts ways with Vault

ALEXANDRIA (KALB) -- Peabody High School has relieved Benny Vault of his football coaching duties, confirmed by KALB on Tuesday. The decision was made by principal Jaimie Henagan.

"She just felt like the program needed to head in a different direction," said boys basketball coach and athletic director Charles Smith of Henagan's decision.

Vault was hired by Peabody in 2015 and led the Warhorses to a 16-17 record in his three seasons with two playoff appearances. Peabody finished 2-8 this past season with a 1-4 record in district 3-3A.

Henagan said that Vault will remain on staff as a teacher.
