NATCHITOCHES - The Natchitoches Main Street Program will continue its 2008 Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series on Friday, May 2 on the downtown riverbank.
This month’s concert will be held on Friday, May 2, featuring The Back Porch Band. The band primarily plays traditional ballads, folk and Celtic music. Band members play many instruments including violins, dulcimers, cello, harp, wash boards and Irish whistles.
111e free conce.rt will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on the Fleur de Lis Stage in downtown Natchitoches. In case of heavy rain, the Brown Bag Lunch Concert will be moved to the Natchitoches Events Center at 750 Second Street.
Lunches are not provided during the concert. Attendees are encouraged to purchase ltUlch from a number of downtown restaurants who sell brown bag lunches.
The Brown Bag Concert series is being supported by a grant from the Louisiana State Arts Council, the Louisiana Division ofthe Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council.
