Choir members of Avoyelles Public Charter High School are preparing for the experience of a lifetime at one of the nation’s most renowned theme parks.

The choir has been invited to sing at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center for the park’s “Magic Music Days” on December 7th.  53 students, from ninth graders to seniors, will join a mass choir and perform 15 songs of Disney version Christmas ballads.  Choir director, Janice Yantice, says she and her students are extremely excited to have received such an invitation.  She says it’s an honor that has been well deserved by her students with plenty of hard work.

The choir had to audition in order to be considered as “Magic Music Day” participants.  Yantice says ever since she and her students received the great news - all they’ve done is practice.  The choir will leave for Disney World on December 5th.

The trip will cost each student about $650 dollars. The choir is hosting several fundraiser events to raise the money.
