A 93-year old woman in North Carolina has pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine. Helen Lane Taylor was sentenced Wednesday in Pitt County to three years unsupervised probation for possessing cocaine. Taylor was arrested in 2005 and later indicted on charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of a controlled substance. A judge sentenced Taylor to probation in lieu of spending six to eight months in prison. Taylor’s charges were reduced to possession through a plea agreement.
