Governor Jindal Appoints Board Members

BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced fifteen new appointments and four reappointments to the Board of Commerce and Industry.
The Board of Commerce and Industry serves to provide benefits and incentives to encourage businesses to locate or expand new or existing operations in Louisiana in accordance with Louisiana Vision 2020, which serves to communicate to the citizens of Louisiana a long-term strategic economic development plan to expand and diversify its economy.
The board consists of 20 members, 15 of which are appointed by the Governor, representative of businesses across the state. The Governor also selects one elected municipal official from a list of nominees submitted by the Louisiana Municipal Association and one from a list of nominees submitted by the Police Jury Association. In addition, the law says the Governor or a designee and the Secretary of the Department of Economic Development or a designee will serve on the board. Lastly, the board includes the lieutenant governor or a designee. 
Gordon Burgess is a nominee of the Police Jury Association. Ronnie Harris is a nominee of the Louisiana Municipal Association. Secretary Stephen Moret is serving as a representative for the Louisiana Economic Development. Tammy Woods is serving as Governor Jindal’s designee to the board.

Appointments to the Board of Commerce & Industry:

Millie Atkins, of Monroe,
has worked as a corporate communication associate for Century Tel since 2006.

Lance B. Belcher,
of Baton Rouge, has been the managing member, and founder, of Belcher Management, L.L.C. since 1992.

Bryan L. Bossier, Sr., of Woodworth,
has been the chief executive officer of Diamond B Construction, L.L.C since 1978.

Gorden Burgess,
of Amite, has served as the President of Tangipahoa Parish since 1986.

Captain Mark Delesdernier, Jr.,
of New Orleans, has been the owner, president, and chief executive officer of River Marine Services, Inc., since 1993, and the owner, president, and chief executive officer of Rampart Real Estate, L.L.C. since 2000.

Jeff Elmore,
of Lafayette, has been the owner of Jeff W. Elmore, L.L.C since 1998.

P. Andre Fruge,
of Lafayette, has been the president and chief executive officer of Louisiana Capital CDC, Inc. since 1995.

Richard A. Gonsoulin,
of Houma, is currently the owner and chief executive officer of LeBeouf Bros. Towing, L.L.C. and has been employed with Lebeouf Bros. Towing since 1960.

Ronnie Harris, of Gretna,
is currently serving his sixth term as the mayor of Gretna where he was elected in 1985.

Jerry N. Jones,
of Shreveport, has been a partner at the law firm of Lemle & Kelleher, L.L.P since 2001.

William V. “Bill” King,
of Lake Charles, is currently the Manager of Hayes Minerals, L.L.C. and serves as president of Kingfish Enterprises, Ltd.

Marty A. Mayer, Jr.,
of Covington, has been a partner of Stirling Properties, Inc. since 1986 and currently serves as its President and CEO.

Stephen Moret,
of Baton Rouge, is currently serving as the secretary of Louisiana Department of Economic Development.

Gale Potts Roque,
of Natchitoches, has been the government relations and property manager of MAC-RE, L.L.C since 2005.

Wilda Smith,
of Jonesboro, currently serves on the Jackson Economic Development Board, the Jackson Parish Tourism Commission, and the Jackson Parish Heritage Museum Board.

Charles J. Soprano,
of Alexandria, has been the co-owner of Cenla Broadcasting Company since 1975 and has served as a partner of Realvision Software since 1989.

Greg Walker,
of Baton Rouge, has served as chief executive officer of Gulf States Health Services since 2000.

Jennifer Romero Wallace,
of Lake Charles, serves as the current director of Advanced Planning/Grants for The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, where she has been employed since 1993.

Tammy Woods,
of Colfax, is currently serving as the deputy director of legislative affairs in the governor’s office.
