Stumble It!Rapides Parish Schools are cashing in for their participation in the “2007 News Channel Five Christmas Cheer Food Drive”. 34 schools within the parish took part in last year’s drive and 6 of those were honored Thursday for raising the most amount of canned goods.
A total of 18 hundred dollars was awarded among Phoenix Magnet and J.I. Barron Elementary, Brame Middle, Pineville Junior High, Tioga and Alexandria Senior High School. Food drive organizers say they’re thrilled about the dedication and outstanding efforts of their students.
Rapides Parish raised over 148 thousand pounds of food.
Friday, News Channel Five will travel to Vernon Parish for the final day of check presentations.
