Voters should have an extra 90 minutes
per day to cast their ballots during the weeklong early voting
period. Local registrars are now required to keep the polls open
from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the Monday-through-Saturday
early voting period before election day. The bill (House Bill 1122)
by Representative Bobby Badon, of Carencro, would keep them open
until 6 p.m. It now moves to the Senate for debate.
