KALB Behind the Scenes: Saying goodbye to Diamond Davies

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Diamond Davies' last day at KALB was Thursday, June 9. She decided to make a career change and we wish her the best! Before she left, Diamond took time to answer a few questions we had for her.

Q: Tell us about your background.

Diamond: I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors of Arts for Broadcast Journalism with a concentration in Television News.

Q: When did you start working for KALB?

Diamond: I started working for KALB in January 2016 as a Multimedia Journalist/Reporter.

Q: Give us a rundown of what your daily routine was at KALB:

Diamond: After I came in, I checked for story ideas, then went on a story shoot. Once I got back to the station I wrote and edited my story.

Q: What is your favorite memory at KALB?.

Diamond: My most memorable moment was when I accidentally got Max and I stuck in a ditch in Natchitoches.

Q: Did do you enjoy working at KALB?

Diamond: Everyday it was something different. The things we covered change, but the people I worked with usually kept a smile on my face.

Q: What are you most passionate about?

Diamond: Inspiring and helping others achieve their goals.

Q: What is your favorite food?

Diamond: Tough question. Mac & Cheese is top 10, but so many other foods came to mind when I read the question.

Q: What are your hobbies?

Diamond: I like to read, watch movies, sewing and other crafts, and sleep.

Q: Describe your work area. Were you messy or neat?

Diamond: I had a thousand Post-Its with different reminders. I’m right in the middle of messy and neat.

Q: What is your favorite color? Do you wear it often?

Diamond: I have three favorite colors - orange, pink, and green. I don’t own a lot of orange, but I can’t go a week without wearing pink.

Q: Tell us a random fun fact about yourself.

Diamond: I know the Alphabet Song backwards.

Q: What is something you want the viewers to really know about you?

Diamond: If you couldn’t tell, I’m only 5’ 4”. I tilt the camera a special way to make myself look taller.

Q: What/Who is your inspiration?

Diamond: My family and friends push me to challenge myself, but I also get inspiration from the Bible, quotes, and the pretty girl in the mirror.

Q: What is your ultimate goal in life?

Diamond: To inspire those around me to see their potential and inspire their growth.

Q: What are some final thoughts you want to leave the viewers/readers with?

Diamond: Share a smile a day to keep the evil away.
