Florida captures NCAA title with 6-1 win over LSU

Florida won its first College World Series title Tuesday night with a 6-1 victory over LSU at TD Ameritrade Park.


Behind a 12-strikeout performance from Brady Singer (9-5), Florida held off the LSU Baseball team in game 1 of the best-of-three 2017 College World Series finals on Monday, 4-3, at TD Ameritrade Park.


The LSU Tigers advanced to the championship round of the CWS with a 6-1 win over Oregon State Saturday.


LSU starter Alex Lange and freshman reliever Zack Hess combined to throw a two-hitter against top-ranked Oregon State and bring the Tigers within a game of the College World Series final, 3-1, on Friday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Stadium Omaha.
