Joy Howe joined the KALB news team in April 2010, as an anchor for News Channel 5's weekday evening newscasts, as well as the newscast on CBS 2 Alexandria.
Before coming to KALB-TV, Joy worked at WJBF-TV in Augusta, GA. While there, she worked as a bureau chief, reporter, anchor for the station's two-state coverage area of Georgia and South Carolina.
Joy grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. She received a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
While a self-proclaimed news junkie, Joy also finds time to shop, try new foods, listen to jazz music, and spend quality time with family and friends. Her two favorite things in the entire world are her nieces, and she finds it no coincidence that one of them is named Alexandria!
Joy knew that journalism was the right fit for her, right from the start. After college, she dove into reporting and has not looked back. She says the best part of the job is the new people she meets each and every day.
Joy looks forward to making Louisiana her new home, and eating plenty of crawfish!
