Anchor/Reporter

sdesselle@kalb.com

Sherman Desselle is a native of Alexandria. He is a graduate of Peabody Magnet High School and later of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches in Vocal Music Performance.

He was offered a position as a part-time videographer in June of 2008, and by the end of the year, Sherman enjoyed the experience of being on both sides of the camera. By July of 2009, he was made our "One Man Band" reporter, covering the weekend news and NSU sports. He later began anchoring the Weekend Edition newscasts on News Channel 5 and reporting our "What's Right About Cenla" stories. Sherman would like to thank Michele Godard, Keith Weiss and his past and present colleagues for his on-air opportunities and the helpful advice.

When Sherman is away from the station, his family and involvement in the Cenla community keeps him busy. He speaks at local schools and community events, performs on stage with the City Park Players, and is active in his local church. He also likes to attend music concerts and NSU, LSU, and New Orleans Saints games.
