Dorrell Wenninger

Meteorologist
dew@kalb.com

Dorrell joined the team in June 2010 as the weekend meteorologist. He came to us from WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Mississippi where he was a Back-up Meteorologist and Production Technician.

Dorrell's interest in the weather came from his experience with Hurricane Katrina (August 29, 2005). He rode out the hurricane only two miles from the beach in Long Beach, MS.  During the chaos and aftermath of the coasts worst storm in 36 years is when he decided that he wanted to pursue an education in meteorology. He wanted to  learn how and why the weather strikes and be able to tell people when and where danger will be the worst.

Dorrell graduated from Mississippi State University in the fall of 2009 where he was a member of the MSU storm chasing team.

When not forecasting the weather, Dorrell enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, fishing and watching Saints football.

He is looking forward to meeting new and interesting people throughout CenLA and calling this area his new home.
