Mo Carter joined the News Channel 5 Sports Team in August 2010.
He grew up "Down the Bayou" in lovely Assumption Parish. He attended Assumption High School and has always been actively involved with the local community. Mo earned All District, Regional and Honorable Mention All State honors in both football and track. His high school teammates included current NFL players Brandon Jacobs (SF 49ers) and Tramon Williams (Green Bay Packers). Somehow Mo also found the time to be Student Council President and the State 4H Food and Fitness Board Chairman.

After graduation, Mo attended Nicholls State University and played on the team Colonel squad that captured 2005 Southland Conference Championship. After two years, he transferred to Southern University to play the Jags under legendary head coach Pete Richardson. While on the Bluff, Mo worked as a Sports Anchor/Reporter for Southern University's Channel 75. Mo served as the President of NAACP, National Association of Black Journalist and RTNDA. During his last semester, he appeared in the national spotlight twice: Being a Student VJ for SU on BET's Black College Tour commercials and sideline reporting for ESPN's Campus Connection Week.

These opportunities gave way for Mo to earn an internship at WAFB in Baton Rouge and he was put to work quickly! His second day of the internship was National High Signing Day! With the help of Steve Schneider, Jacques Doucet and Erin Cofiell, he was able to earn a job working as a Sports Producer, Photog and Reporter. After a year and a half in the business, Mo has earned and opportunity to live out his dream as a Sports Anchor here in Cenla.

Since being here, Mo has covered several huge events with the Saints, LSU, Louisiana College, Northwestern State and high school.

In December 2011, Mo was promoted to the role of Sports Director at KALB.

Mo is the oldest child of Mo Sr. and Ethel Carter and has one sister, LaShawn.
He is a huge fan of Louisiana sports teams (Saints, LSU, Southern, Hornets, etc).

In his spare time he enjoys traveling, working out, attending the Second Evening Star Baptist Church, spending time with loved ones especially his twin daughters: Jaelyn & Janiya Carter. Mo has enjoyed the move to Alexandria so far and looks forward to getting involved with the local community.
