Pecan Festival in Colfax

Posted: Updated:

The annual Pecan Festival kicked off today in Colfax.

News Channel 5's Alex Hinckley spent the day there and shares some of the fun with us.

It's that time of year again for the Colfax Pecan Festival.

Louis Walken was at the festival today, she said, "I'm enjoying the festival very much".

Lance Welch added, "I love the music."

He is not alone, the crowd was bopping along with the band too.

The pie eating contest is one of the highlights of the festival. Dustin Mcgloghlin was this years winner.

After that the Pecanettes broke it down for the crowd—and you can't leave without getting some pecans.

Alvin Fongleman owns a Pecan farm and sells them at the festival, "We raise our own pecans and we just have a good time."

There's a little something for everyone at the festival—especially that Louisiana cooking.

Dallas was cooking some Cajun cuisine today, "Nobody is going hungry today".

On your side in Colfax, Alex Hinckley, News Channel 5.

The grand parade is tomorrow at 10 am and the festival goes until Sunday afternoon.
