Taking the wheel and hitting the road in faster time could soon be a thing of the future if a 50 mile, 4 lane beltway is built in Central Louisiana.
The Central Louisiana Regional Infrastructure Beltway Commission is in the process of jump starting plans for a highway that would circle Cenla, joining major roadways in Rapides, Avoyelles and Grant Parish, making for a quicker commute.
Right now, the group behind the project is looking for state support for studies about the project.
They're working hand in hand with the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce to get the idea off the ground. It's all part of the Chamber's legislative agenda for next year.
