A new urgent care clinic is planning to open at the corner of Highway 28 and the Pineville Expressway in Pineville.
The urgent care center, "Rapides After Hours," is a joint venture between Rapides Regional Medical Center and Premier Health Consultants, will open in late Fall.
"Rapides After Hours is specifically designed to fill a healthcare void in the Central Louisiana community," said David Williams, Rapides Regional Medical Center chief executive officer. "This is not a primary care office, though those requesting a primary care physician or requiring follow-up care will be referred to one of RRMC's expert practitioners.
"Most importantly, we expect Rapides After Hours to provide relief to our Emergency Department's minor care volume, which has grown considerably in the last several years."
This new center will specialize in after hours, urgent care medical treatment without appointments or long wait times.
