The NFL has suspended New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton, General Manager Mickey Loomis and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams for their roles in the bounty system by which the team's players were paid for hits that injured opponents.
Payton has been suspended for one year, beginning April 1, according to NFL.com. Williams was suspended indefinitely. He was just hired as the defensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams.
Loomis is suspended for eight games and fined $500,000. As a result, the New Orleans Saints will lose two draft picks over the next two years. In addition, Saints Assistant Coach Joe Vitt is suspended without pay for six games.
