LEESVILLE---A Leesville man and woman were found dead Wednesday night in their home after a heated domestic dispute.

Vernon Parish Sheriff responded to a call on Stanley Road in Leesville on March 21. Police say a family member stopped by to visit Christopher E. Gavin, 52, of Stanley Road in Leesville and saw Gavin's young child in the living room through a window unattended.

The relative discovered the front door was unlocked, entered the house and saw that Gavin had apparently hung himself.

After arriving on the scene, police say they discovered a second body in the garage. The second body was Tamara R. Gavin, 33, Gavin's wife.

Deputies say evidence at the scene indicates that the couple was involved in a domestic dispute when Tamara Gavin was killed. Sometime later, Gavin took his own life.

The bodies were sent to the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport for autopsies. The murder suicide is still under investigation.
