ALEXANDRIA, La. - The storms that blew through earlier today caused some problems for people around Cenla.
According to Cleco, 5,000 people lost power Thursday, and about 2,500 are still without power in Rapides Parish. The company is working to get the lights back on.
The storm is being blamed on at least one accident.
A semi ran into a car near the intersection of Airbase Road and I-49 around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Officers say James Westin, the driver of the semi, was heading north on I-49 before he took the exit for Airbase Road. Investigators say that he slid through the stop sign and struck the car.
There are no reported injuries, and Westin has been cited for failure to yield.
