There are currently no active Tropical Cyclones in the Atlantic Basin.
Today is the first Official day of Hurricane 2012 and there have already been 2 named Tropical Cyclones in the Atlantic Basin (Alberto & Beryl). T.S. Beryl was the strongest Pre-Season tropical cyclone to make landfall in recorded history. There was a tertiary system that developed early this year (In February). This third system was not named, however it did display tropical characteristics.
It looks like an active season ahead of us. Remember to stay ahead of the storm and get prepared NOW!
-Store several days of food incase of power outages after a storm.
-Have 1 Gallon of water per day, per person for 3-5 days. (In case the water system becomes corrupted before/during/after a storm.)
-Stock up on necessary medications.
-Remember to have your important documents ready and in one location. (Just In Case)
These are only a few reminders with the beginning of hurricane system.
Tropical development is not expected during the next 48 hours.
