WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Barack Obama has declared this week as National Flag Week.
The proclamation calls for all federal buildings in the country to proudly display the flag this week, and he also asking citizens to do the same.
On Thursday, the nation will celebrate Flag Day.
The tradition dates back to 1966 when it was decided that we would celebrate the flag, and it would be declared each year by the president.
