ALEXANDRIA, La. - Despite some recent rainfall, two boat launches along Cane River Lake are closed due to low water levels.
The closure affects the Washington Street and Spillway launches.
And a special note for property owners in the point place area of Cane River Lake:
A chemical treatment to target duck weed will take place on Friday morning at 7 a.m.
Property owners should cover any plants by the water line on docks, piers and boathouses.
All boating traffic and the Shell Beach launch will also close during the treatment.
