Sheriff Leaves Office June 30

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. - In two weeks, Sheriff Chuck Wagner will wrap up his time as sheriff of Rapides Parish.

Wagner took office back in 2008, and filled the seat of Sheriff William Earl Hilton when he resigned.

But last year, Hilton decided he wanted to head back to his old job and defeated Wagner in the race to become sheriff again.

So at the end of the month, Wagner will turn in his badge and head to the financial planning and insurance business.

And while he says he's ready to try something new, he's not ruling out running again in four years.
