ALEXANDRIA, La. - It's a learning summer for some boys and girls at the Casson Street Community Center who are in the Trio program.
At the center Monday, educator Calvin Mackie of New Orleans, spoke to the children and encouraged them to stay in school.
He also said that no matter where they come from, they should continue learning and education is the key for kids to compete in the future.
