DHH Discusses Medicaid Reforms

ALEXANDRIA, La. – On Wednesday, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals discussed the proposed improvements to Bayou Health.

Representatives of DHH presented an overview of the planned merger of pharmacies into Bayou Health at the Convention Hall in Alexandria.

DHH said that Bayou Health will coordinate more than two-thirds of the state's Medicaid and LaCHIP recipients by contracting five major health plans.

DHH officials also said that Bayou Health will not only improve our Medicaid system, it will save tax payers money.
