ALEXANDRIA, La. -- It was a little taste of Hawaii right here in Alexandria over on 14th Street and Monroe on Saturday.
Members of Mt. Zion church and the senior citizens center threw a backyard luau for the tenants.
It's the first time they've held the luau. Board members thought it would be a fun way for the congregation to spend the afternoon in their own island oasis.
Members loved the idea so much, they plan on doing it again next year.
