The early summer heat wave continued today across central Louisiana. Here are the highest temperatures reported from the exclusive KALB-TV Weather Watchers Network:
AEX and Bellwood both reached 103
Winnfield, Colfax, Fort Polk, Esler Airport, Atlanta, and Bentley all maxed out at 102
On the kinder side of the thermometer, Simmesport only reached 96 and Natchez, MS had a "balmy" 94.
The 103 high at International Airport (AEX) was their warmest of the year and the third straight triple digit max temperature.
Most of the area also started the day warmer than Monday. Ville Platte and Natchitoches only "cooled off" to 78. Enjoy tonight, though, as most thermometers fall to between 65 and 70 degrees.
Temperatures will average above normal for the rest of the week and it will be drier than normal as well.
