RAPIDES PARISH, La. -- Former Rapides Parish Chief Deputy Darrell Guillory has died.

He had been on leave for several months as he battle pancreatic cancer.
Wagner said Guillory was a major asset to the department and helped make it what it is today.
"Darrell is just one of the nicest people you'll ever get to know. He's one of the most competent law enforcement officers I've ever met in my life. In this community it's going to be a very big loss," said former Sheriff Wagner. "He touched so many people's lives. He's just a great Christian honest man."
