ALEXANDRIA, La. - There are several local merchants celebrating Christmas in July on July 14. And, the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce are asking residents to shop and buy local to get some Christmas shopping done early.
According to the chamber, money spent at one business translates to payroll, which is then spent for goods and services at other businesses. Economists estimate that a single dollar turns over 4-6 times for local businesses.
