Discussion
There is a Ridge of High Pressure that is anchored over the Lower Mississippi
River Valley. With High Pressure, comes clear skies and low rain chances with
temperatures able to reach much higher values during the afternoon hours. So,
we will only see a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms, this afternoon.
This Ridge will remain anchored over the area during the next couple of days
and we will see these conditions continue. However, we can expect to see fair
rain chances during the later part of the work week and into the weekend as
this ridge begins to break down. Winds will be light and variable with high
humidity values.
For the rest of the day
Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with In & Out cloud cover and a
slight chance for showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and early
evening. Temperatures will range from the upper 80's to the Mid 90'w with high
humidity values making it feel more like temperatures are above the Century
mark. Most of the viewing area will see partly cloudy skies with only a few,
isolated showers. As of 12:00pm, there was not any rain in the area. Winds will
remain light to moderate and out of the South throughout the day. Overnight,
expect some clearing with tapering rain chances and a muggy feel.
For the rest of the 7day planner
Low rain chances will remain on the board through mid-week as the setup will
not chance much. Come the later part of the work week, we will see rain chances
go up slightly with decreasing chances for the weekend. High temperatures will
remain in a seasonal range through the 7day planner. However, high humidity
values will make conditions feel much hotter than they are. Peak Heat Index
values may reach 180.
TODAY...Throughout the day, expect mostly
sunny to partly cloudy skies and seasonally hot conditions with a slight (30%)
chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 91-97. The peak heat index may reach
105. South wind 3-8 mph.
TUESDAY
NIGHT...Fair skies and a bit muggy. Lows 7-7. South, becoming SW wind 2-8mph.
